DMCA Policy

GoodyTap respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users and contributors to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 ("DMCA"), the text of which can be found on the U.S. Copyright Office website, we will respond expeditiously to claims of copyright infringement on the Site that are reported to our designated copyright agent.

What GoodyTap Hosts

GoodyTap is an editorial review site. We do not host application binaries (APK files), pirated software, or distributable copies of any application. Every download link on the Site directs to the official Google Play Store listing of the app in question. The content we publish about each app consists of editorial commentary, screenshots provided by the developer through Google Play, and factual metadata such as the app name, category, and rating. All app names, logos, and screenshots remain the property of their respective developers.

Filing a Notice of Infringement

If you are a copyright owner, or an agent thereof, and you believe that material accessible through the Site infringes your copyright, please send a written notification to our designated copyright agent containing all of the following information, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

  1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material — for example, the URL of the page on goodytap.com where it appears.
  4. Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and an email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Please send your notice to our designated agent at hello\@goodytap.com with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Notice". Notices that do not substantially comply with all of the above requirements may not be actionable.

What Happens After You File a Notice

Upon receipt of a complete notice, we will promptly review it and, if appropriate, remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material. We will also make a reasonable effort to notify the affected party of the takedown. We do not contact the original poster (since we are the publisher of our editorial content), but we will document the action internally.

Counter-Notice

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice that includes the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). Send your counter-notice to the same address with the subject line "DMCA Counter-Notice".

Repeat Infringers

We take repeat infringement seriously. In appropriate circumstances, we will remove or disable access to material posted by users who are repeat infringers, and where applicable terminate their access to the Site.

False Claims

Please be aware that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be subject to liability. Do not make false claims.
